Temporary Safety Officers

We are now looking for temporary Safety Officers until the end of August for our new Superstar ropax vessels which are in regular traffic between Naantali-Långnäs-Kapellskär, to strengthen the skilled and qualified onboard teams, one person for M/S Finnsirius and one person for M/S Finncanopus. This is good opportunity to either have a bit change to usual 2nsf Officer duties and/or learn new and be part of very skilled and committed onboard team. You will receive a good familiarization and get good support as long as you are a team player and active in communication

What does this work include:

1. Coordinates and develops Safety-related functions and routines onboard. Acts as contact person for Safety-related questions from the ship’s crew.
2. Coordinates safety related tasks onboard, including but limited to, familiarization, drill keeping, SMS-manual updates, safety checks acc to PMS etc.
3. Takes part to security training/inspections/checks acc. to SSO advices. Acts as supervisor for security guards, and assists them if needed.
4. Takes part to watchkeeping as well when needed.

We expect you to have :

• Maritime education as officer or chief mate
• Valid passport, seaman’s passport and valid seamen’s medical certificate.
• Good skills in English, other languages, especially Finnish and Swedish are appreciated
• Experience from safety duties onboard and understanding of ISM/SMS
