Health and Safety Manager in the Group Quality & Compliance Team

As Lindström’s new Health and Safety Manager you will have the ownership of our global Health & Safety policies, ensuring the safe working conditions of Lindström employees. You will be leading Lindström Group’s Health and Safety management process and ensure its continuous improvement as well as be the champion for educating our people on Health and Safety. In this role, you will need excellent Finnish and English language skills. You will also be the statutory Health and Safety Manager for the Lindström Head Office. Your location will be at our Head Office in Kalasatama, Helsinki, where we are working in a hybrid model. You will report to the Director of Quality and Compliance. 

In this role, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading Lindström Group’s Health and Safety management processes by developing, defining, and analyzing the key performance indicators
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of Lindström Group’s Health and Safety management
  • Developing, reviewing, and updating internal Health and Safety policies
  • Deploying new and/or updated procedures, guidelines, and reporting tools with internal stakeholders globally
  • Instructing, supporting, and educating line managers and local management teams as well as various health and safety committees on Health and Safety matters
  • Conducting internal Health and Safety audits, evaluations, and reviews, as well as participating in sustainability reporting 
  • Providing up-to-date reports and information to stakeholders on Health and Safety management related topics
  • Acting as the statutory Health and Safety Manager for Lindström Head Office premises

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety management expert, who is familiar with Finnish and international standards and regulations, and can communicate effectively both in Finnish and in English. The ability to inspire and involve people is integral for this role, as well as a result- and service-driven approach to work. Excellent communication and people skills will help you network and deliver Health and Safety related information in an effective and approachable way, and will aid you in facilitation. Our ideal candidate has: 

  • Relevant academic degree
  • Strong experience and demonstrable results in Health and Safety management in an international organization
  • Experience in international Management System Standards
  • Deep knowledge of Finnish and international Health and Safety regulations
  • Ability to involve stakeholders and create commitment
  • Strong communication, facilitation, networking, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to understand market drivers in a fast-changing business environment, particularly from the compliance perspective 
  • Ability to make comprehensive analyses to determine priorities
  • A service-driven approach and a keen interest toward continuous learning and development
  • Excellent Finnish and English language skills (written and spoken)
