The Embassy of Japan is currently recruiting local staff who mainly works for General
Affairs Section and Defence Section. The application outline is as follows.

Job Description

1. Duties
 a. Secretarial works,
 b. Survey and translation of information mainly on security, and
 c. Other tasks required by the Embassy

2. Vacancy
 One (1) person

3. Working days and hours
 Weekdays, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, and other holidays determined by the
 Embassy.
 September-May: from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (lunch break from 12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m.)
 June-August: From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (lunch break from 12.00 p.m. to 1.00 p.m.)

4. Qualification requirements
 a. Excellent command of Finnish and English required to perform duties. In addition, a
  high level of Japanese skills (level N2 of Japanese Language Proficiency Test or
  equal skills).
 b. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office,
 c. University degree or any other academic diploma deemed equivalent to the university
  degree,
 d. Commencement of the work from 1st July 2024,
 e. A permanent residence and work permit for non- Finnish national.

5. Application Process
 – Applicant is requested to submit the following documents to the address below by post or
 e-mail no later than 16.00 hours, on Monday, 6 May 2024(requisite arrival).

 a. A resume written in English or Japanese,
    Your language skill should be described on the resume. Please make sure that the resume
    includes your phone number and e-mail address for further communication.
 b. A copy of identification card or passport,
 c. A copy of Japanese Language Proficiency Test certificate,English Proficiency certificate
  (e.g.TOEIC, TOEFL), or other certificate of language Proficiency, if any.
 d. For a non-Finnish national, a copy of residence permit or equivalent document proving
  legal status of working in Finland.
 – The submitted documents will not be returned.

7. Selection process
 a. First screening:
  The applicants will be selected based on document screening. Only those who are
  selected will be contacted by Friday 10 May 2024 5:00 p.m.
 b. Second screening:
  Interview test will take place on 15, 16 or 17 May 2024 for successful interview
  candidates. Time and date will be informed directly to the candidates.
