Freight Forwarder
We are now looking for a permanent, full-time Freight Forwarder for our office in Vantaa to work with Travelcargos international removals, personal effects shipments and related transport solutions.
Our office language is mainly English, so the role requires fluent English skills. Fluent Finnish is also required for customer service, documentation and handling matters with authorities.
**The role**
As a Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for the practical coordination of transport and forwarding processes related to international removals and personal effects shipments. The role combines knowledge of air, sea and road freight, customs-related documentation, international communication and customer-focused problem-solving.
You will work closely with Travelcargos removals and sales teams, ATCs in-house freight forwarding and customs divisions, overseas agents, transport partners, shipping lines, airlines, terminals and customers.
**Your tasks include:**
– Freight forwarding and coordination of international personal effects shipments
– Arranging air, sea and road transport from Finland abroad and from abroad to Finland
– Planning routes, schedules and transport modes together with internal and external partners
– Communicating with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, terminals, transport companies and customs-related parties
– Preparing, checking and following up on transport and forwarding documents
– Collecting and coordinating information related to customs clearance and import processes
– Following up on shipments and keeping customers and other parties informed
– Handling exceptions and finding alternative solutions when plans change
– Working with sales and coordinators on pricing, schedules and operational questions
– Helping develop ways of working together with the team
**What we expect from you**
To succeed in this role, you should have previous experience from freight forwarding, international logistics or transport coordination. We especially value experience with air, sea or road freight, as well as an understanding of documents and processes related to customs and international transport.
Previous experience from international removals or personal effects shipments is considered a strong advantage, but the most important thing is solid forwarding knowledge and the motivation to apply it in the international removals business.
We expect you to have:
– Experience from freight forwarding, transport coordination or international logistics
– Knowledge of air, sea and/or road freight
– Understanding of customs, export and import processes and documents
– Accuracy with documents, schedules and shipment details
– Ability to handle several shipments and customer cases at the same time
– A solution-oriented approach in changing situations
– Good communication skills and a customer-focused way of working
– Fluent Finnish and English skills, both written and spoken
– Ability to work independently, but also in close cooperation with the team
– Good general IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
– A positive attitude and a good sense of humour
Swedish language skills are considered a strong advantage.
