Procurement Engineer, KATKO, Helsinki

On behalf of our client KATKO, we are looking to hire a

PROCUREMENT ENGINEER.

This is a permanent position based at KATKOs factory in Konala, Helsinki.

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and sustainable acquisition of raw materials, components, tooling, and services essential to KATKOs production operations. This role involves driving supplier performance, overseeing end-to-end procurement processes, and supporting strategic sourcing and reporting activities in alignment with the companys broader operational objectives.

In this role:

– You are responsible for sourcing raw materials, components, tooling, and services.

– Coordinate purchase orders and delivery schedules in close collaboration with planning and production teams.

– Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

– Conduct supplier evaluations, audit, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

– Ensure adherence to supplier agreements and compliance with defined quality standards.

– Support and execute strategic sourcing decisions in cooperation with production, quality, and logistics.

– Prepare procurement budgets and monitor actual vs. planned costs.

– Produce procurement-related reports (e.g., CBAM, GHG, Intrastat).

– Handle purchasing documentation, invoice matching, and approval processes.

– Maintain accurate data in ERP and procurement systems.

– Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and sustainability goals.

– Work closely with warehouse, finance, and production planning to optimize inventory levels and delivery timing.

– Participate in procurement-related problem-solving and escalation processes.

– Contribute to continuous improvement and digitization of procurement processes.

Qualifications:

– Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

– Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the industrial sector.

– Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation

– Fluency in Finnish and English

– Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

– Real team player with high motivation to learn

– High integrity and fast decision-making skills

– Proficiency in MS Office and ability to adopt fast digital tools and software applications

– Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
