Shift Lead, Data Center, Kouvola, Kouvola

Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the operations of a team of shift technicians. You will ensure that all critical services and building services are maintained to the highest standards, and that shift handover reports are prepared and completed on time, guaranteeing a seamless transition between shifts. This role requires working in shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays.

— Key Responsibilities —

Leadership and Supervision:
· Lead and manage a team of shift technicians, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
· Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
· Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Operational Oversight:
· Ensure all data center operations are running smoothly and efficiently during the shift.
· Monitor critical services and building systems to identify and address potential issues promptly.
· Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to resolve operational challenges.

Shift Handover Management:
· Prepare detailed shift handover reports, documenting all relevant information, incidents, and actions taken during the shift.
· Ensure Shift handover reports are completed and communicated effectively before the end of each shift.
· Conduct shift handover meetings to brief the incoming shift on the current status and any ongoing issues.

Compliance and Safety:
· Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for the shift team.
· Report and document any safety incidents or near-misses promptly.

Technical Support:
· Provide technical assistance and support to the shift team as needed.
· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the shift.
· Coordinate with the technical support team for complex problem resolution.

Continuous Improvement:
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
· Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the shift team.
· Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

— What Were Looking For —
· Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
· A few years of experience in data center operations or a similar role for example in industrial setting.
· Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
· Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Finnish is a plus.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
· Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high integrity and a collaborative working style.

The job is located in Kouvola. Contracts will start in July. The recruitment process includes first phase interviews with Bolt.works and will proceed into second phase interviews with the hiring company, and will include aptitude test. Employees selected for the job will sign employment contract directly with the employing company. The job may include training period abroad.
