We are looking for a class teacher at International School of Vantaa

The International School of Vantaa is a multicultural comprehensive school with around 680 students. The school provides English-language instruction for grades 1 – 9. The students’ home language is English or they have acquired a good English proficiency by other means. 

The students are admitted to the school based on a language test. The teachers employed at our school come from various nationalities. Our curricula are based on the National Core Curriculum for Basic Education. The International School of Vantaa is looking for a class teacher.  

The qualification requirements are higher university degree and class-teacher qualification (degree 986/1998). If the degree has been taken outside Finland, the applicant shall present an equivalent qualification approved by the Finnish National Board of Education. 

We are looking for a teacher with good cooperation and communication skills and interest in further developing our school. We appreciate earlier teaching experience in a multicultural school, knowledge of the Finnish National Core Curriculum and enthusiasm for tackling new challenges. 

We seek a teacher who:

• is responsible for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported. 
• differentiates their teaching to cater to the diverse needs of the students, using a variety of instructional strategies and materials. 
• uses variable assessment methods to evaluate student learning and provides ongoing feedback.
• is able to increase student ownership of their learning and fosters the sense of community among the students. 
• has Finnish language proficiency

Kelpoisuusvaatimus: Opetustoimen henkilöstön kelpoisuusvaatimuksista annetun asetuksen 986/1998 mukainen kelpoisuus.

Kelpoisuusvaatimuksen lisäksi edellytämme: Finnish language proficiency is required. Mother tongue is English or who has successfully passed the top level of the National Certificate of Language Proficiency test in the English language.

Palvelussuhteen ehdot määräytyvät Kunnallisen opetushenkilöstön virka- ja työehtosopimuksen (OVTES) mukaisesti.

Palkkaus: OVTES. At ISV you can receive an extra payment for teaching in English which is around 168 euros/month.
