We are looking for a committed and business-driven Project Manager to join our Sustainable Business Development team. Our team is responsible for sustainable new business development at Valio, building new business concepts and partnerships in close co-operation with our business teams, climate team and other internal and external stakeholders. This role will focus on supporting the development of our joint venture Suomen Lantakaasu together with St1 and work as Valio’s project manager for the business. The position offers you an opportunity to grow alongside interesting business initiatives and have a central role in building new renewable and circular business to Finland. You will have the opportunity to leave your finger-print to Valio’s new businesses and shape our food system to become more resilient.

To succeed in this role, you need to be self-driven and have a passion for building better tomorrow. You are curious by nature and lean bravely towards new opportunities. We expect you to have strong project management and business development skills, as well as knowledge of biogas business or similar renewable and circular business models. You should have the ability to manage complex situations and multiple stakeholders and conduct analyses and documents with internal and external data as well as translate them into actionable insights that can be used in decision-making. You know how to lead and manage projects in cross-functional set up. As Valio’s project manager for Suomen Lantakaasu, you will work closely also with St1 organization.

Your responsibilities include:

• Manage development initiatives, projects and processes to support Suomen Lantakaasu management and business from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. 
• Identify opportunities to development of our biogas business and ensure profitable outcomes
• Lead the on-going projects and ensure that Valio’s project team is up to task as well as that Valio’s interests are taken into account in the business development 
• Conduct business analysis and contribute to the development of business models, management systems and enterprise architecture 
• Collaborate with cross-functional and organizational teams to ensure development plans and projects implementation
• Engage with stakeholders, including partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to promote and support our sustainable business initiatives.
• Prepare and present project reports and presentations to senior management and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Proven track-record and at least around 5 years of experience in similar role, preferably with a global company or management consulting
• Proven experience in managing business projects and initiatives, with knowledge of biogas business or similar renewable or circular business models
• Well-developed project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills, ability to translate complex matters into clear, actionable insights and conclusions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Can-do-attitude, resilience and ability to work under uncertainty
• Fluency in Finnish and English, other languages considered a plus
• Master degree in relevant field

The position is fixed-term and located in Valio headquarters in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. We work in a hybrid model that takes into account the employee’s and team’s wishes for office and remote work.
