Programming and game design club instructor

**Brief:**

We are looking for game educators whose hearts beat for creativity, game design, and 21st-century skills! In this role, you will act as the mentor and guide for two of our awesome club themes: _My Own Game Studio_ and _Coding and Future Skills_. You will lead children and young people behind the scenes of the digital world, helping them develop logical thinking and breathe life into their own game ideas in a safe and engaging online environment.

School of Gaming (SOG) is a game-based education and digital youth work company that combines education and gaming in a fun and safe way. We provide children and young people with opportunities to develop 21st-century skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. Our trained game educators guide kids in inspiring online clubs and courses with a strong social and educational impact.

**Description:**

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be the one pulling the strings behind the scenes of a game studio? Now is your chance to become the boss of your own game studio and lead the talents of tomorrow from initial idea to final publication. And don’t worry, we don’t require you to move to Silicon Valley! You can stay right in your gaming chair in Finland or work at your local school. Or both!

Your mission is to guide and mentor groups of 10–15 young, creative gamers. In the _My Own Game Studio_ club, you aren’t just coding. You are setting up a whole production team, including scriptwriters, graphic designers, sound designers, and producers. You will help kids identify their strengths and collaborate. In the _Coding and Future Skills_ club, you will step behind the digital curtain using the globally acclaimed Code.org platform.

Rather than spoon-feeding answers or mechanically grinding code syntax, you encourage them to try, fail, and figure things out on their own. Your role is to tickle their gray brain cells, spark their curiosity, and create challenges for them to solve.

**What We Are Looking For:**

– You know which way to hold a mouse and you understand the mechanics and culture of gaming worlds.

– You have a visual eye or a basic understanding of the different aspects of game design (coding, graphics, audio, or storytelling).

– We greatly appreciate it if you have former experience guiding small humanoids on Tellus (e.g., camp counselor, club instructor, or youth work).

– If gaming is your passion and you love stepping into stories and play, you are the Game Educator we want!
