Accountant

We are now looking for an Accountant to strengthen our customer Foreships finance team at their headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. In this role, you will take ownership of Foreship Oys accounting activities and play key part in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.

Foreship is a highly respected ship design and engineering company, providing a broad range of services to the shipping industry since 2002. With over 100 naval architects, marine engineers, and sustainability experts across offices in Finland, Estonia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, we specialize in concept design, consultancy, and project management for new buildings and conversions, having successfully completed over 4,000 projects worldwide. Foreship is expected to generate a total revenue of approximately 19 million euros in 2025, with profitability (EBITDA) exceeding 20 %, and strong ambitions for significant growth in the coming years. Foreship is part of RINA, a multinational engineering consultancy, inspection, and certification company.

Role Description

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for performing general accounting tasks and supporting the monthly financial reporting process. Your responsibilities will include preparing accruals and postings, ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, supporting financial reporting, and collaborating with our external accounting partner during the handover phase.
The role also includes handling payments, statutory reporting to authorities, preparation of financial statements, and internal communication with the stakeholders. The role may also include other accounting tasks as needed. As international collaboration is a key part of this position, fluent English is essential. Finnish language skills are considered an advantage, but not mandatory.

Foreships ERP system will transition to Dynamics 365 in April 2026, and you will participate in parallel accounting during the implementation phase.

You will report to Foreship CFO.

What We Expect From You

– Few years of experience in accounting and financial reporting in Finland
– Good understanding of the accounting requirements in Finland
– Ability to work in an international environment and communicate fluently in English
– Flexibility and adaptability in changing situations
– Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
– Authorization to work in Finland
– Experience with Dynamics 365 ERP and Salesforce is a plus, but not required

The estimated salary range for this role is 4000–4500€ per month, depending on experience

This assignment is conducted as a project work through Poolia with possibility to full employment with Foreship Oy.
