Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing the mechanical infrastructure and systems of a hyperscale data center. This role ensures the continuous and efficient operation of mechanical systems, upholds high standards of safety and compliance.

— Key Responsibilities —

Mechanical System Management
· Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within the data center.
· Ensure all mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, and fire suppression systems, operates reliably and efficiently.
· Implement and maintain mechanical safety policies, procedures, and best practices.

Maintenance and Upgrades
· Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all mechanical equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.
· Coordinate with vendors and contractors for mechanical maintenance and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
· Implement preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
· Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly.

Safety and Compliance:
· Ensure all mechanical operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Maintain up-to-date documentation and records to support compliance audits and certifications.

Technical Support
· Provide technical expertise and support for mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
· Collaborate with other engineering and operations teams to ensure integrated and efficient system performance.

Strategic Initiatives:
· Support the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Critical Services Manager in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance mechanical system performance and support business growth.

— What Were Looking For —
· Degree in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering or a related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within a data center or critical infrastructure environment for example in industrial setting.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and compressors, and the ability to resolve complex mechanical challenges.
· Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
· Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Finnish is a plus.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
· Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high integrity and a collaborative working style.

The job is located in Kouvola. Contract will start either late May or June. The recruitment process includes first phase interviews with Bolt.works and will proceed into second phase interviews with the hiring company, and will include aptitude test. Employees selected for the job will sign employment contract directly with the employing company. The job may include training period abroad.
