Product Manager

Bittium Defense & Security develops ultra-secure smartphones and mobile communication solutions for governments, defense forces, and public authorities. The Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of the Bittium Tough Mobile™ smartphone family and related secure mobile offerings.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end product management of secure smartphones — from product vision and roadmap through development, certifications, launches, and lifecycle management. You will work at the intersection of mobile hardware, operating systems, security software, and government customer requirements.

This is a highly influential role where you will shape how Bittium’s secure smartphones evolve and succeed in global defense and government markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle of the Bittium Tough Mobile™ smartphone family, including related accessories and services
• Define and prioritize product requirements covering smartphone hardware, OS-level security, secure applications, accessories, and services
• Work closely with R&D, system architects, and suppliers on smartphone platforms, components, and operating system evolution
• Act as the product interface between customers, sales, R&D, security certification bodies, and partners
• Drive security certifications and approvals in national, EU, and NATO contexts
• Translate customer and operational needs into clear, actionable requirements for secure mobile devices used in real-world missions
• Support go-to-market activities, including positioning, product messaging, industry events, seminars, pricing models, and sales enablement
• Monitor market trends in secure smartphones, mobile OS security, and government mobility, and reflect insights in the product roadmap
• Own product lifecycle decisions, including variants, updates, long-term support, and end-of-life planning
• Participate in and contribute to customer RFI, RFP, and RFQ work

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Product Manager for smartphones, mobile devices, or complex embedded products
• Strong understanding of smartphone platforms, mobile operating systems (especially Android-based systems), and device ecosystems
• Experience working with security, reliability, or mission-critical requirements
• Ability to manage products that combine hardware, operating systems, and software
• Strong presentation skills and experience working with international customers
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills in technically complex environments
• Fluency in English
