Circular Materials Project Lead

Do you want to work with Circular economy and biobased materials while helping industries develop and pilot solutions? Arcada is looking for a dynamic and driven Circular Materials Project Lead who can drive innovative solutions and has the ambition to build strong collaboration between research and industry. As Circular Materials Project Lead you are responsible for project management, industry engagement, and development of circular innovation pilots in an ambitious team with inspiring coworkers.What are ReCreate Biobased and Reed2Market?The position is part of the EU-funded project ReCreate BioBased under the Interreg Central Baltic Programme (50%) and Business Finland funded Reed2Market project under the co-research programme (50%). These projects focus on developing circular value chains for biobased materials, with a particular focus on underutilised resources such as reed. The project brings together universities, companies, NGOs, and public actors from Finland, Sweden, and the Baltic states. The aim is to research and co-develop practical circular solutions and innovation pilots, while also establishing a Circular Materials Laboratory at Arcada to support research, development, and long-term collaboration.In this role, you will act as a bridge between Arcada and industry, while leading the overall project implementation across the consortium.We are looking for a person with a strong interest in bioeconomy and sustainable innovations. You thrive while developing practical solutions, collaborating with different stakeholders, and working in an international project environment. You are responsible for overall project implementation and have experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and circular economy.As Circular Materials Project Lead you:lead the project´s activities and work packages within the projectplan and produce workshops, demonstrations, and stakeholder eventscreate collaboration and engage with companies and partnerscontribute to reporting, documentation, and strategic developmentYou have at least a masters degree in environmental science, engineering, economics or related field and prior experience from working with project management. Experience in EU-funded projects is considered a strong advantage. You are fluent in English and Finnish or Swedish. As a person you are solution-oriented, comfortable working with project leadership and a team player.We can offer you a job in a multi-professional and dynamic work environment. This position is a fixed-term position for the time period 01.05.2026 30.04.2029. The salary is in accordance with EU-funded project guidelines and ranges between 42004700 €/month, depending on work experience. A doctoral degree is considered an advantage.Questions?
