About the role

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is seeking a talented Payment Controller to join our Payments – Financial Solutions team. This role is pivotal in managing the operational relationship with WBD’s payment service providers. The successful candidate will document existing and future processes to support application compliance obligations and use data to identify trends and opportunities that can be summarized and shared with stakeholders to support financial business decisions.

This role involves close collaboration with the Manager of Payments, Payment Managers, and other members of Compliance, Product, Engineering, Procurement, and Global Treasury teams. With an impressive global brand footprint, this role will provide data analysis across all WBD properties, including Max ”The One to Watch”, Discovery+, Harry Potter Studio Tours, DC Universe Infinite, and more.

Work tasks

Drive payments application compliance: Work closely with Payments Application compliance owners to document existing processes and future states, maintain the payments applications user bases, and ensure all controls are carried out to the specifications of compliance stakeholders. Identify any issues and enhancements within existing or future controls that result in noncompliance or improvements to payments application control processes.

Develop the Payments application compliance roadmap: Identify areas of opportunity for automation and facilitate necessary conversations between internal implementation teams and external payments partners.

Collaborate with teams: Partner with payments application stakeholders to identify access issues and automation opportunities. Deliver consistent data and reports to key stakeholders to keep them informed with the performance of payments for their line of business.

Support the Manager of Payments: Assist with ad-hoc requests and any special Payments related projects, as necessary. Partner with Payments stakeholder teams to drive results in areas of strategic or tactical improvement. Prepare user base for larger strategic initiatives; manage email domain migrations, user base cleanups, etc. Deliver consistent data and reports to key stakeholders to keep them updated on any deficiencies.

-Process card payments and deal with access-specific vendors to process credit card payments

We are looking for

-Experience in the payments or compliance industry
-Experience working with Payment Processors
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or other similar discipline or comparable business experience
-General understanding of Card Payments, billing, tax, and reporting systems
-Excellent analytical skills displaying the ability to tell a story with data (excellent skills in Excel)
-Excellent communication skills in English
-Availability to work flexible hours due to time changes
