We are looking for an Embedded Engineer to join our growing team at our Helsinki office. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining the embedded software that powers Puntas products, working closely with both hardware and cloud-connected systems. Your work will directly impact the reliability, performance, and quality of our customer-facing products used in Finland and around the world.
You are technically strong, hands-on, and motivated, with solid experience in C++ and embedded development on both MCU and Linux-based platforms. You will work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and product teams, taking ownership of firmware design, implementation, debugging, and maintenance for custom hardware. You will also ensure high code quality and compliance with MISRA guidelines.
Your responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain embedded software for IoT products on MCU and Linux-based platforms
– Design, implement, and debug firmware for custom hardware
– Work closely with hardware: drivers, interfaces, and application-level logic
– Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability in customer-facing products
– Collaborate with hardware, cloud, and product teams
– Follow MISRA guidelines and best practices in embedded development
What we expect from you:
– Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
– 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded software development
– Solid experience in C++ for embedded systems
– Experience with both bare-metal/RTOS and Linux-based environments
– Ability to work with MCUs and custom boards
– Strong debugging skills (JTAG, logic analyzers, etc.)
– Understanding of embedded software architecture and constraints
– Experience working in product development for customer-facing systems
Nice to have:
– Experience with IoT communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP)
– Familiarity with secure boot, firmware updates, and device security
– Experience with test automation for embedded systems
– Basic understanding of cloud integration
– Experience in code reviews and improving coding standards compliance
