Company Description

AILiveSim is a Helsinki-based company that offers a state-of-the-art simulation platform bringing together AI, robotics, and video game technology. We are active in several industries such as automotive, mining, maritime, robotics, and defense. With controlled simulations, AILiveSim accelerates the development cycle and provides a scalable solution for testing, training, and validating autonomous machines and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.

We are currently seeking talented and motivated Sensor Simulation Programmers to join our development team.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing detailed simulations for image-based sensors, with a particular focus on thermal cameras, within Unreal Engine. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate these simulations into procedural environments. Additionally, while our primary focus is on image-based sensors, expertise with other sensors such as LiDAR, radar, and sonar is also valuable.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement accurate simulations for image-based sensors, especially thermal cameras, with Unreal Engine
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensor simulations into our procedural environments.
* Optimize and fine-tune sensor simulations for real-time performance.
* Stay current with advancements in sensor technologies and simulation techniques.
* Contribute to the design and development of AI training scenarios.

Key Requirements:
*Bachelor’s Degree In Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
*Hands-on experience with image-based sensors, especially thermal cameras (e.g., *LWIR, MWIR) and radar simulation (e.g., FMCW, UWB). Additional expertise in LiDAR, radar, and sonar is a plus.
*Proven experience in programming and simulation development, with a focus on image-based sensors such as cameras and thermal cameras. Proficiency in C++ and hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.
*Strong understanding of thermal imaging (LWIR, MWIR, SWIR, NIR) and other sensor technologies.
* Ability to optimize and troubleshoot simulations for accuracy and real-time performance, with knowledge of noise factors affecting sensor performance.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Bonus Skills:
* Familiarity with Unreal’s rendering pipeline, and shaders.
* Experience with AI training simulations.
* Knowledge of perception algorithms in ADAS/autonomous driving with Radar and fused data.
* Familiarity with simulation technologies like Unity, Gazebo, or MATLAB.
