Development Manager, Operations

At Veikkaus, we are focused on building a software development environment that empowers teams and drives high-impact results. We’re searching for a Development Manager, Operations to become an integral part of our Gaming Product Development unit leadership team, guiding and optimising our day-to-day operations. This role is all about fostering a seamless, efficient workflow within our development teams, where we have high standards to align with our product model and where we continue delivering outstanding outcomes to our customers. The position is permanent and full-time. 

As Development Manager, Operations, you’ll take on a central role in supporting and guiding our development teams, making sure they have the right tools, clarity, and agility to perform at their best. Bringing product thinking and Agile principles into everyday practice will be a big part of your focus—making sure teams understand and integrate these practices to enhance collaboration and product quality.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing daily operations: Ensure efficient workflows and adherence to product model standards across development teams.
• Providing operational guidance: Offer expertise to help resolve complex challenges, supporting teams in making sound decisions and delivering their best work.
• Embedding Agile practices: Lead the adoption and integration of Agile principles, fostering a flexible and collaborative work culture.
• Enhancing processes: Analyze and refine operational processes, improving both productivity and quality of outcomes.
• Enabling data-informed decisions: Define, monitor, and report on KPIs and OKRs, helping us stay aligned with our goals and informed by meaningful metrics.
• Leading continuous improvements: Initiate improvements that blend operational and technical perspectives to keep our development environment evolving.

What we’re looking for:

We need someone with a proactive approach and strong analytical capabilities. You should be experienced in managing development operations, comfortable taking part in conversations around technical topics, and skilled in Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset that values continuous improvement and knows how to drive operational processes that empower our teams to do their best work.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

• A background in supporting development teams, ideally in a product-driven environment
• The technical expertise to provide guidance on challenges and enhance operational efficiency
• Strong experience in applying Agile practices and facilitating their adoption
• A data-driven mindset for setting and measuring key metrics (KPI, OKR) that reflect our productivity and progress
• The leadership and collaboration skills to inspire confidence and commitment among team members
• Possibility to work at the Veikkaus office minimum of three times a week
