Street Canteen is a Malaysian street food restaurant in Finland dedicated to delivering authentic flavors and traditional cooking techniques. Our kitchen is led by chefs with deep roots in Malaysian cuisine, and we are committed to preserving the integrity of the food we serve.
We are seeking experienced chefs from Malaysia with strong, hands-on knowledge of authentic Malaysian cooking. This role is intended for professionals who have been trained in and have worked extensively with Malaysian cuisine.
**Key Responsibilities**
– Prepare and execute authentic Malaysian dishes to a high standard
– Handle traditional recipes, spice blends, and cooking techniques
– Maintain consistency, quality, and hygiene in daily kitchen operations
– Work collaboratively with the head chef in menu development and refinement
**Requirements**
– **Professional kitchen experience specifically in Malaysian cuisine**
– Proven experience preparing traditional dishes such as nasi lemak, char kway teow, laksa, rendang, roti canai, etc.
– Strong understanding of Malaysian ingredients, spices, and cooking methods
– Formal culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience in Malaysian kitchens
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Basic English communication skills
