**Financial Controller (Talouspäällikkö) International Operations**

**Role Overview**

We are seeking a **Financial Controller (Talouspäällikkö)** to take full ownership of financial operations across our international business.

This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and overseeing financial processes across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Financial Management & Reporting

– Oversee financial operations across Finland, USA, and India entities

– Consolidate financial reports across all companies

– Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

– Ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all reporting

2. Strategic Financial Leadership

– Partner with leadership to support strategic decision-making

– Provide data-driven insights on growth opportunities and risks

– Build financial models for:

– new programs (e.g., education, training programs)

– market expansion

– new product launches (EdTech, AI tools)

3. Cost Optimization & Efficiency

– Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives

– Analyze expenses and reduce inefficiencies

– Optimize vendor contracts, staffing costs, and operational spend

4. Global Structure & Tax Optimization

– Work with external advisors to optimize tax structures across jurisdictions

– Ensure compliance with:

– Finnish accounting and tax laws

– US federal and state requirements

– Indian financial regulations

1. Support structuring decisions between group companies

5. Cash Flow & Capital Allocation

– Manage global cash flow and liquidity planning

– Recommend optimal allocation of capital (growth, investments, reserves)

– Ensure efficient movement of funds across entities

6. Systems & Automation

– Improve financial systems and reporting tools

– Implement automation for reporting, forecasting, and KPI tracking

– Integrate financial data with internal platforms

7. Compliance & Controls

– Maintain strong internal controls

– Coordinate audits and external accounting partners

– Ensure all regulatory filings and obligations are met

**Requirements**

– Experience in **multi-entity / multi-country financial operations**

– Ability to manage financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions

– Understanding of **Finnish accounting standards** and international financial environments

– Experience in **startup or growth-stage companies or education will be considered a huge bonus**

– Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

– Ability to work independently and take ownership of the full finance function

**Working Hours & Location**

– Average **37.5 hours per week**

– Working hours: **MondayFriday, 6:00 PM 2:00 AM (Finnish time), USA Pacific time.**

– Fully remote work within Finland

**Salary**

– **€3,000 gross per month**

**Employment Terms**

– Permanent employment (valid until further notice)

– 6-month probationary period

– IT Service Sector collective agreement applies
