Rise Technologies is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our experienced team. We’re building AI-powered solutions that will transform how small and medium businesses manage their finances. Working alongside seasoned fintech veterans, including the founder of Paytrail, you’ll have significant impact on our technical direction and product development in this early-stage environment.

Fully remote position – Our team spans multiple countries, and we’ve built effective remote collaboration practices. Finland-based candidates (especially Jyväskylä area) are welcome for occasional in-person collaboration, but remote work is fully supported and expected.

In this role, you’ll work across the full stack—covering both frontend and backend—while integrating AI-driven capabilities to build intuitive solutions that make complex financial data clear, accessible, and actionable for SMBs.

Core Stack:
– TypeScript (Node.js) for backend development
– PostgreSQL for data persistence
– AWS as our cloud foundation with proper environment separation
– Serverless-first approach using modern AWS services
– CDK for infrastructure as code
– AI Integration via various APIs making AI capabilities accessible throughout our platform

What Were Looking For
– Strong experience with TypeScript/Node.js and modern frontend frameworks
– Solid understanding of serverless architectures and AWS services
– Experience with PostgreSQL and database design
– Familiarity with infrastructure as code (CDK preferred, but CloudFormation/Terraform experience transfers)
– Experience with AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) – were building AI-powered tools with AI tools
– Understanding of LLMs and ML beyond basics (highly valued for this role)
– Interest in creating intuitive AI-powered user experiences
– Startup mindset: adaptable, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity
