Peräkammari is looking for a cook for a permanent position!

Peräkammari is a Pohjanmaa-spirited village bar located in Kamppi, behind Forum, offering a cozy atmosphere and good food. We have high level of self-preparation. Our menu includes gluten-free, ketogenic and vegan options, from traditional home-style meals to burgers and pizzas. We have also participated in the Helsinki Pintxofestival and the Syö! weeks and we organize buffets for private events, giving the opportunity to prepare dishes and menu concepts outside our regular menu.

The working hours are 90 hours per 3 weeks, with the possibility to work more depending on the situation.

In Peräkammaris diverse and dynamic work environment, it is beneficial to be able to react quickly to changes and to approach work with a diligent attitude. The job requires good stress tolerance and speed, as well as the ability to work independently on kitchen maintenance tasks during quieter hours. We expect positivity and a proactive approach at the workplace.

We hope you already have some experience working in a kitchen and are eager to learn new things. We are happy to provide training and guidance and if you have at least solid basic kitchen skills through your education and/or work experience learning new areas will be easier. At Peräkammari we aim for a wide range of skills and the job includes tasks related to many of our services. Therefore, please don’t be surprised by tasks related to serving, as during busy times bar staff help in the kitchen and in return cooks may bring dishes to tables. Considerate customer service is key.

We mainly work in Finnish, but English is also fine as long as you can comfortably use the names of foods and diets in Finnish as well.
Our kitchen is open every day from opening until closing, so you should be prepared for regular evening-focused shifts.
The most common shifts are:
12:00–20:00, 14:00–22:00, 14:00–20:00, 15:00–23:00, 18:00–01:00, and 20:00–03:00.
