Thesis Worker, Nokian Tyres plc

We’re looking for a Master’s Thesis worker to work at our Supply Chain planning department in our head office in Nokia, Finland. The subject of the thesis is related to raw material planning. A key focus area is to improve our inventory turns without creating raw material shortage for our factories.

We offer a good working environment and opportunity to familiarize with Nokian Tyres raw material demand and consumption processes. You will work with many stakeholders from different departments (e.g. Supply Chain, R&D, IT, Manufacturing) and get familiar with our tools and processes.

Your main duties will be among those:

• Create current state view and analyse current challenges with our processes, tools and KPIs
• Create proposal to
  • Improve raw material demand (e.g. raw material demand changes alert, BOM management and consumption accuracy)
  • Optimize and maintain our raw material planning strategy (stock levels etc.)
  • Automate tasks while minimize possible human/system errors in process
• In addition to thesis work, some operative tasks will be needed to understand better our raw material operational purchasing challenges.

To be successful in this position you would need:

• B. Sc degree in Industrial engineering and management or similar
• Good English & team working skills, also Finnish language skills are appreciated
• Analytical, independent and hands-on working style
• Eager to learn new things and to solve problem
