We are looking for a specialist to join the LUC RDI Services unit of the University of Lapland and Lapland University of Applied Sciences, for a permanent employment contract.

The position of Senior Specialist is located in the consortium’s joint research, development and innovation services unit (RDI Services), which broadly supports the research and development requirements of the consortiums personnel by providing instruction and support in obtaining external funding. The RDI Services project funding team serves teaching, research and development personnel in all faculties, competence areas, and units of LUC.

Your tasks are

– Collaborate with researchers and research groups in the preparation and writing of priority research funding applications for EU Framework Programme calls.

– Advise, guide and support staff in producing high-quality proposals for the procurement of international competitive funding.

– Assist personnel in finding relevant funding opportunities and in drawing up financial plans.

– Review, revise and proofread proposals before submission, by tailoring proposals to fit funder priorities, terms, and conditions.

– Also participate in other expert and development tasks related to RDI Services.

What we expect from you

– Higher education degree

– Experienced in applying for international competitive research funding, particularly under Horizon Europe.

– Proactive, solution-oriented, and developmental approach to work

– Excellent oral and written Finnish and English language skills

– Ability to handle stressful situations

– Good communication and interaction skills.

In addition, we value individuals with good knowledge of, and a background in research, particularly those familiar with and experience in RDI projects. A doctoral degree is considered an advantage.

Trial period: 6 months
Remuneration: The task-specific salary is determined on the basis of level 11 for other expert and support staff, from the salary system of the general collective agreement for universities (Sivista). In addition, a salary component based on personal performance is paid, up to a maximum of 50%. The starting monthly salary level is approximately 5030€ – 5160€. The applicant can also present their own salary request.
