The International School of Helsinki (ISH) is a vibrant, inclusive, and non-profit learning community offering education to students aged 4 to 18 through the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum. Located in Finland’s capital, ISH fosters a global mindset and prepares students for the complexities of the modern world. Our community includes over 100 staff members and approximately 500 students representing diverse cultures and nationalities.
Are you a dedicated and experienced facilities and cleaning professional? We are seeking a new, temporary team member to work 6 hours per day, to support the facilities staff in maintaining and cleaning the school’s main building, as well as its Early Learning Center which is a few minutes’ walk away.
Key Responsibilities Include
Building Maintenance
Miscellaneous building maintenance tasks, including minor repairs
Setting up for events
Assisting with furniture removals
Outdoor and indoor maintenance work
Security-related duties in the building
Cleaning
Daily cleaning in designated areas of the school
Deeper cleaning during school holidays when students are not present

Qualifications
Proactive and friendly customer service approach is essential
Good knowledge of building maintenance work, with past employment as a cleaner in Finland considered an advantage
General aptitude DIY and practical work
Good level of general fitness
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Sensitivity to an international environment
Driver’s license
This position is a pilot project for one year only in order to assess a new strategy where internal staff support the maintenance needs of two campuses a short distance apart.
