Cook with Latin-American Cuisine Knowledge

The cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of Latin American dishes in accordance with traditional recipes and established kitchen standards in a Latin American restaurant-like environment. The role includes handling raw ingredients, seasoning and marinating meats, preparing sauces, stews, and side dishes, and ensuring that all food is presented with consistent quality and authentic flavour. The cook is expected to have a strong understanding of Latin American culinary techniques, spices, and ingredients, and to apply this knowledge in daily food preparation and to have at least two years of experience in Latin American cuisine.

The position involves working closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods, following production schedules, and adapting to varying volumes of orders. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen is a core responsibility, including proper food storage, hygiene practices, and compliance with food safety regulations. The cook will also monitor ingredient freshness, assist with stock rotation, and report any shortages or quality issues.

In addition, the cook may contribute to menu development by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on Latin American culinary traditions. The role requires the ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail while ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality and safety standards.
