Test Automation Engineer, KONE Oyj, Espoo

About the role

We are now looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join KONEs digital service development team in Espoo. In this position, you will participate in the development and testing of web-based applications that support KONEs maintenance and field operations. The applications are used by service technicians and technical specialists globally, and the systems behind them combine data streams from multiple sources such as cloud services and large-scale enterprise platforms.
You will work as part of an agile development team and collaborate closely with developers, product owners and other testers. The role combines both manual and automated testing, with a strong focus on expanding test automation using Robot Framework.
This position is well suited for someone early in their career, or a developer-minded person with a strong interest in testing. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to understand complex systems are key to success.

Work tasks
– Planning and executing test cases for web and API-based services
– Testing complex digital service flows and understanding data behaviour across multiple back-end systems
– Developing and maintaining automated tests using Robot Framework
– Supporting the team in increasing test automation coverage
– Creating test data and validating functional behaviour
– Collaborating with developers and technical experts in daily agile routines
– Using browser tools to simulate mobile behaviour when needed (no physical mobile testing required)

We are looking for

– Some experience with test automation or testing during studies or internships
– Basic coding skills – Python is an advantage
– Interest in working with web technologies, APIs and cloud-based systems (AWS)
– A proactive, self-driven and curious mindset
– Ability to grasp system-level behaviour and communicate findings clearly
– Fluency in English (Finnish is a plus but not required)
Experience with Robot Framework, AWS or other test automation technologies is considered an advantage, but not mandatory – motivation and ability to learn quickly are more important.
