As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will work as part of delivery projects and be responsible for the progress of electrical engineering-related project scopes within your area of responsibility. The role combines technical design, project coordination, and documentation management.

Work tasks
This role combines in-depth technical expertise in electrical design, project management skills, and accurate documentation. Your work will help ensure the quality and smooth execution of delivery projects.
Your tasks include:
– supporting project-specific electrical and automation design
– preparing and coordinating electrical drawings, cable lists, and other technical documentation
– defining technical requirements and purchasing specifications
– collaborating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers
– following up on subcontractor deliveries and quality
– managing documentation and implementing changes in systems
– supporting installation and commissioning phases
– when needed, acting as support or stand-in for a Chief project engineer
What kind of background are we looking for?
To succeed in this role, you need a proactive way of working and the ability to move things forward even when not all input data is fully available yet. Practical technical understanding, decision-making ability, and willingness to take responsibility are all essential in this position.
You may be at the beginning of your career or already have some experience, but the most important thing is that you have a strong technical foundation and a practical understanding of electrical or automation engineering. You do not need to master every system used in the role from day one. What matters most is your ability to interpret technical drawings and understand what different documents, layouts, and listings mean in practice.
We hope you have:
– a relevant educational background, such as a BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering
– understanding of electrical engineering systems and technical drawings
– experience in design work, for example in industrial, infrastructure, marine, energy, or similar environments
– a proactive and responsible working style
– good teamwork and communication skills
– fluent English skills
The following are considered an advantage:
– experience in electrical installations, practical hands-on work, or industrial projects
– experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools
– Finnish and/or Swedish language skills, as well as broader language skills, especially in major European and global languages
– willingness to travel
Practical information
Location: Vaasa
Employment: Permanent, full-time
Working hours: Flexible working hours
Remote work: Hybrid model (remote work up to approximately 2 days per week), but a strong on-site presence is expected during the first year
Travel: On average around 1030 travel days per year, with the possibility for more extensive travel if the selected person is interested
Start date: According to agreement, preferably by August at the latest
