We are now looking for

**R&D Engineer, Systems**

This is a permanent full-time role where youll contribute to the development of advanced gas measurement equipment and work across multiple engineering fields. This role focuses on system-level thinking, hands-on integration, and practical problem solving with real hardware and complete measurement systems.

As a R&D Engineer at Gasmet, your work will be hands-on, varied, and impactful. You will:

– Work hands-on with prototypes, test setups, system integration, and verification in our own laboratory

– Take responsibility for the overall functionality of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)

– Collaborate with colleagues from optics, electronics, chemistry, mechanics, automation, software, and IoT

– Support production and other departments throughout the product lifecycle

– Gradually deepen your expertise in gas measurement technology and become a key technical contact within your product area

**Your role and responsibilities**

– Take ownership of system-level design and performance for assigned product families

– Assemble, integrate, test, and troubleshoot system hardware and subsystems

– Ensure our products meet customer and company requirements

– Act as a technical driver for new product development within your area

– Contribute to design updates, documentation changes, and component-level improvements when needed

– Support purchasing by reviewing hardware components and identifying suitable replacements

– Communicate regularly with colleagues across product management, procurement, production, service, and quality teams

– Create and maintain documentation for your product family

**What helps you succeed here**

– Background in relevant field of engineering or science (e.g. electrical, automation, mechatronics) or a related field with demonstrated experience in systemlevel responsibility (BSc/MSc or equivalent hands-on experience)

– Interest in working with complex technical systems that combine mechanics, optics, electronics, and software

– Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams is essential.

– Comfort working with systemlevel electrical documentation (for example power distribution, I/O, and interconnections)

– Curiosity and a hands-on approach to solving problems

– Willingness to collaborate, communicate and coordinate clearly with different teams

– Comfortable working in English, both spoken and written

– Openness to occasional travel

And if you bring any of these, thats a great bonus:

– Finnish Electrical Qualification S2

– Familiarity with measurement equipment, instrumentation, or laboratory work

– Electronics knowledge beyond the system level such as PCB design, componentlevel troubleshooting, or detailed schematics

– Background in device or mechanical manufacturing

– Technical hobbies or projects youre proud of
