Hanken Business Lab now accepts applications for a MARKETING AND COMMUNITY INTERN from 1 February 2026 to 31 August 2026 

Location: Vaasa Startup Factory, Fabriikki, Vaasa Campus

Extent: Part-time during the spring and full-time during June – August

Vaasa Startup Factory is the joint entrepreneurial hub of the six universities in Vaasa – a place where students, researchers and early-stage founders meet, work, and build new ideas. We host events, incubator programs, and provide a community for anyone curious about entrepreneurship.

We are now looking for a Marketing & Community Intern to support our activities and help us reach even more students and early-stage founders.

Your main tasks will include 

• Support our community of students & startups // Help the Community Manager with day-to-day collaboration: do light check-ins with teams, respond to member questions, and help people find the right support or contact person.
• Onboard new members and gather feedback // Assist with welcoming new students, startups and project teams into the Vaasa Startup Factory community, explain how the space works, and help us collect feedback so we can improve our services and programs.
• Plan and run community events // Take ownership of small-scale events (e.g. breakfasts, game nights, afterworks) and support the planning, logistics and execution of bigger events like talks, panels, and workshops.
• Support the Next Level Growth Challenge in Vaasa // Help with communication, coordination and practical arrangements around the Next Level Growth Challenge event in Vaasa, working closely with Hendrik and our partners.
• Take care of the space // Help us keep the Startup Factory welcoming, tidy and functional: support with room bookings, basic setup for events and meetings, and making sure visitors feel at home on the 2nd floor of Fabriikki.
• Support marketing & communications // Work together with Hendrik and the Hanken Business Lab team on social media posts, simple visuals, website updates, and sharing what’s happening at Vaasa Startup Factory through our channels.

What we’re looking for

• You are a student at one of the Vaasa universities
• You are interested in entrepreneurship, startups and community building
• You enjoy creating content and are comfortable using social media
• You are organized, proactive and not afraid to talk to people
• Excellent English skills (spoken and written); Finnish, Swedish and other languages are an advantage but not required

You don’t need to be an expert in everything – curiosity and willingness to learn are key.

The position is 20 hours/week during the spring and full-time during June-August with flexible office hours to be jointly decided upon. The salary is 1250 €/month (part-time) and 2265 € /month (full-time). The trial period is two months.
