Global Safety Manager

We are looking for a Global Safety Manager to join our global safety team and work with whole Nokian Tyres organization to develop occupational safety in our operations. Safety is our main priority every day across organization.
We offer you a central role in occupational safety and its development in a modern and developing company. Specified responsibilities can be fine-tuned based on selected applicant´s capabilities and are party shared together with Global Safety Director.
This position is permanent and location can be any of our factory locations (in Finland, US or Romania).
Core Responsibilities
- Compliance and Audit: Ensure continuous compliance with safety policies, standards, and requirements, including organizing and participating in audits, inspections, and self‑assessments
- Continuous improvement: In accordance with the strategy and safety roadmap, highlight safety development opportunities and initiate safety development projects together with organization.
- Risk Management: Coordinate and support risk management in all activities across organization.
- Safety Culture and Communications: Promote a safety-first culture through training programs, workshops, and communication.
- Tool development and safety reporting: Develop utilization of digital tools and digital methods to support safety development.
What we expect from you
- MSc or BSc in Engineering (Safety Management or a related field) or wide experience among industrial safety.
- 5+ years of industrial experience, with experience in managing safety in industry. Managerial experience in line organization appreciated.
- Professional certifications are appreciated (safety or problem solving through lean).
- Understanding of industrial processes and ability for systematic thinking and problem‑solving.
- Expertise in regulatory frameworks (ISO 45001, OSHA)
- Good written and verbal English skills to effectively communicate with global stakeholders and employees. Swedish, Norwegian or Romanian is an additional plus.
- Ability to travel frequently to international sites for development projects, audits and training.
