About the role
Our client company Plytec, based in Lahti, Finland, is currently seeking an automation engineer to join their experienced team. As an automation engineer, you will play an important role in the design, programming, development, and implementation of automated systems aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and productivity. Depending on your previous background and strengths, you may focus on a specific aspect of projects, whether it be design, development, programming, or deployment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with senior colleagues and clients to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions effectively. Occasional travel (20-30 days per year) will be required to oversee the installation and deployment of automation systems at client sites, where you will provide hands-on support and technical expertise as needed. We are looking for
– Relevant education (e.g., degree in automation or mechatronics)
– Previous experience in PLC programming (Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500)
– Willingness to travel for commissioning projects
– Fluent written and spoken English

It is meritorious if you have
– Fluent written and spoken Finnish
– Experience in machine safety controls
– Knowledge of automation components
– Previous involvement in wood panel processing projects Knowledge can be gained through education, experience or self-taught.
