Sommelier / Wine Manager, Gaijin

We are seeking a committed, professional, and innovative individual to join our team. This role also involves working as a manager/shift supervisor, so experience in a leadership position is preferred. We require candidates to have at least four years of experience in the restaurant industry, a broad skill set, strong customer service abilities, and a firm attitude. While formal sommelier training is not mandatory, experience as a sommelier is a definite advantage when managing the restaurants selection and volume. Gaijin’s product selection is exotic, including Finland’s largest sake selection, so in this role, you will also have the opportunity to learn a lot of new things.

In this position, you will have a front-row seat to develop an exceptional concept in a successful and dynamic company. You will have the freedom to shape the product selection and collaborate with the country’s top suppliers. If talking about wine comes as naturally to you as poetry to Runeberg, you love customer service, and you enjoy guiding other staff members, you are the person we are looking for. Key tasks include inventory management, updating the wine selection, training staff, and, of course, customer service. The sommelier is on-site when the customers are, so the work is primarily in the evenings and on weekends.
