The O’Learys journey began on a hot summer day on the island of Nantucket, where a young Jonas Reinholdsson met Anne O’Leary, a spirited Bostonian. Their shared passion for hospitality and sports led them to Sweden, where they opened the first O’Learys restaurant in Gothenburg on November 16, 1988.

Back then the sports bar scene in northern Europe was almost non-existent and O’Learys quickly became a beloved local hotspot. Since then, we’ve expanded to over [100 venues], creating a concept that guests love, in venues from 200 to 7000 square meters.

Since then, we’ve come a long way, expanding one restaurant at a time. Today, O’Learys is growing globally, and we’re on the lookout for franchisees eager to join us on this exciting journey. So, what’s the secret behind our success? It all comes down to the passion and dedication of our team, who have continuously refined and elevated the O’Learys concept. While staying true to its Boston roots, the concept has been thoughtfully adapted and developed into a thriving international brand with universal appeal.
