As Paralegal, you will support Camcos Helsinki-based legal and compliance functions, whose work involves complex cross-border investments, which in turn require robust legal and compliance support. In addition to supporting the legal and compliance functions, you will also work closely with the investment team members throughout Camco’s geographical footprint.

In this new role, you will focus on the following three areas of responsibility:

Contract Management:

– Reviewing and finalizing a variety of agreements based on Camcos templates, such as NDAs, amendment and extension agreements and other standard agreements.
– Maintaining contract templates, including on Camcos online contracts system.
– Coordinating with internal teams and external counsel on contract execution.
– Populating internal databases with key contractual information and monitoring contract compliance and updates.
– Training new portfolio companies on Camcos contract & compliance practices.

KYC & AML Compliance Support:

– Assisting in onboarding investors and counterparties by conducting KYC/AML checks, many of which in sub-Saharan Africa.
– Maintaining accurate and up-to-date KYC records to ensure compliance with ongoing monitoring obligations and liaising with external service providers.
– Reporting to the General Counsel.

Company Secretarial Duties:

– Facilitating board and committee meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
– Coordinating with external service providers to ensure timely filings with relevant authorities.
– Assisting with corporate governance matters.

You could be the Paralegal we are looking for, if you:

– Have at least 3 years of experience in a legal support or contracts management role, ideally within a regulated fund manager, investment firm, law firm, or other kind of (financially) regulated business environment.
– Have a relevant degree (e.g. BBA, LL.B.) – a paralegal certification is a plus! We are more than happy to consider candidates who have acquired their education outside of Finland or EU.
– Are familiar with contract management and can draft simple, template-based agreements, have been exposed to KYC/AML requirements and have familiarity with preparing corporate materials. However, if you only tick one or two of these boxes, but feel strongly motivated about the position, please feel free to reach out!
– Demonstrate high attention to detail and can manage multiple workstreams with short turnarounds.
– Have excellent communication and coordination skills, and you enjoy working independently and across time zones in a fast-paced environment.
– Are fluent in English; French language skills is a plus (Finnish language skills are not required).
