DELIVERY OPTIMIZATION SPECIALIST

As our new Delivery Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our delivery operations. You will work closely with the technology and delivery teams to create and implement new route optimization processes that support our business needs. You will also train and support our route planners in using our upcoming new route optimization tool and will identify development areas. This is a new role, and the final focus areas will be defined based on your experience and the needs of the business. Your location will be at our Head Office in Kalasatama, Helsinki, where we are working in a hybrid model. 

Your key tasks in this role will include:

  • Defining business requirements and necessary details for the implementation of the route optimization tool
  • Documenting new process descriptions, work instructions and training materials for delivery services
  • Supporting route planners globally in route optimization and best practices, as well as training route planners in the use of upcoming tools, concepts, and processes
  • Identifying areas for further development in route optimization to enhance cost savings and usability for end users
  • Exploring the opportunities AI can bring to route optimization and implementing best practices

We are looking for a new team member who has a strong understanding of delivery services and route optimization and a keen interest in improving and developing something new. You will be working with internal and external stakeholders such as route planners, IT specialists, and vendors, so having good communication and cooperation skills is important. Excellent numerical and analytical skills are also essential for this role, as well as good data interpretation and problem-solving skills.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Strong understanding of delivery services and route optimization 
  • Understanding of end-to-end processes, and experience in working in cross-functional teams
  • Good data analysis and data interpretation skills
  • Good written and spoken English language skills
  • An independent and proactive working style
  • Good communication, co-operation and networking skills 
  • Experience in route optimization tool implementation in seen as an advantage
  • Experience in using Microsoft Field Service is seen as an advantage
