As a Chief Specialist you will act as a key member of the research team, broadening the competence base of he team and driving new research opportunities.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Networking with prominent research partners
- Consortium building and project preparation for EU funded and national calls
- Leading and participating in multi-disciplinary, applied research projects
- Writing scientific articles and engaging in other dissemination activities of research results
- Other tasks that promote successful research in LAB
What do we expect from you:
- Extensive experience in health technology and digital solutions in healthcare settings
- Proficiency in leveraging advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data analytics to improve healthcare and social services
- Knowledge of digital health systems, telemedicine, and health information systems
- Proven track record in planning and leading research projects
- Experience in international research collaborations and publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals with the focus on advanced technologies in well-being and health, including areas such as bioinformation or medical technology, life sciences, technical psychology, data science, artificial intelligence, signal processing, human-computer interaction, digital accessibility, and design for health
- Good communication skills in English and sufficient Finnish skills (using Finnish in all day work)
- A Ph.D. in a relevant academic field such as Health Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics

The work is permanent and starts on 1 June 2025 or when agreed upon. LAB University of Applied Sciences has campuses in Lahti and Lappeenranta. The position has a six-month trial period. The salary is based on the current general collective agreement for the private teaching sector. Salary level being from 5200-5700 eur depending on the experience level.
