Operational Buyer – Thruster Systems

An exciting opportunity has arisen as we are looking for two new talents for the roles of Operational Buyer in Propulsion Handling – Thruster Systems.

Our Propulsion and Handling (P&H) division owns, develops and delivers world class products for Propulsion, Handling systems, motion Control and waterjets for all Marine industry, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers’ operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s Propulsion and Handling systems.

In the role as Operational Buyer – Thruster Systems you will plan and execute purchasing activities in the operational purchasing team according to best practice and contribute to optimizing our purchasing activities supporting both aftermarket/spares and new sales activities. KM has a strong focus on building a strong supplier portfolio, establishing a profitable business and entering new product- and market areas. To further strengthen the existing team, we are looking for hiring two motivated persons for the roles of Operational Buyer.

Key accountabilities:

Place orders in our ERP-system and follow up on signals to ensure good flow and delivery within expected time, cost, and quality.
Ensure good communication with our suppliers and develop them into being the best they can.
Continuously challenge our existing supplier base through being pro-active and strategic, working for cost-optimized solutions throughout the value chain
Support aftermarket to meet customer demands.

Qualifications and experience:

Bachelor degree from technical/economical/logistics or other relevant subjects or relevant work experience
We also see it positive if you can read drawings and you are having basic knowledge of mechanical engineering
Good communication skills in English. Knowledge in other languages in addition are an advantage.
