Key Responsibilities
As a kitchen assistant, you will:
1 Support chefs in preparing Korean dishes, including side menus and ingredients for various dishes.
2 Assist with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and cooking, while ensuring the restaurant’s high standards are maintained.
3 Help with maintaining kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
4 Perform pre-opening tasks such as prepping ingredients and ensuring kitchen equipment is functional.
5 Work closely with chefs to ensure recipes are executed correctly.
6 Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standard operating protocols.
7 Organize fridges, storage areas, and manage inventory daily.
8 Oversee waste management and help reduce food waste through careful inventory control.
9 Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, ensuring all staff follow safety protocols.
10 Assist with customer interaction when necessary, ensuring friendly and professional service.

Skills and Experience Required
We expect the ideal candidate to:
1 Have an understanding of Korean food culture and dishes, such as Kimchi, Bulgogi, Seolleongtang, Gamjatang, and other traditional Korean side dishes.
2 Be familiar with food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques.
3 Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, busy kitchen environment.
4 A previous experience as a cook is not required, but experience in kitchen roles or food preparation will be an asset.
5 Strong communication skills in English (Korean language skills are a plus).
6 Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
