Teaching Vacancy – “Operational Planning and Management”
HELBUS Helsinki School of Business is seeking an experienced instructor to deliver the following undergraduate unit in early 2026: “Unit 15: Operational Planning and Management” (7.5 ECTS at level 4). This is a part-time, fixed-term position suitable for visiting faculty and may be renewed.
The unit is part of HELBUS’ undergraduate degree programme in Business and Management delivered in partnership with Pearson Education (UK) regulated by Ofqual, and the University of Northampton.The curriculum, learning outcomes and guidelines are established by Pearson. The instructor will be responsible for preparing the course material, delivering the classes, and assessing student work. The unit will be taught in two formats:

On-site intensive delivery in Helsinki (26.1.-13.2.2026)
3-week teaching block with 60 contact hours -
Online delivery (31.8 – 11.10.2026):
6-week remote format with structured weekly sessions
The unit provides students to explore how operations management functions with all business activities to efficiently create and deliver products and services. Students will explore the approach to quality management and continuous improvement in the production process, as well as review how operations managers have to ensure oversight for the entire supply chain. We require the following:

Proven higher education teaching experience in human resource management at undergraduate level

A Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field

Excellent English language skills (C1–C2 level)

Experience in both in-person and online teaching

A formal teaching qualification
We especially value:

Experience in UK higher education or with BTEC/Pearson qualifications

Practice-based knowledge in HR functions and international business environments

Ability to engage practitioner guest speakers to enhance the learning experience

Use of interactive and student-centred teaching methods

Familiarity with Moodle or similar learning management systems

A structured and supportive teaching style that engages diverse learners
