The City of Tampere Trainee Programme runs from 18 Aug to 19 Dec 2025.

You will be paid for your traineeship period. The University internship voucher would be an advantage. We work in a hybrid working model allowing flexible remote and office working hours in several tasks.

International Trainee Programme is targeted at international students or newly graduated international students from Finnish universities.

International Trainee Programme is carried out in English. Some of the meetings are organized in cooperation with the Trainee Programme for the Finnish speakers, and you will be part of Finnish-speaking workplace community. You will be able to practice your Finnish skills, even though you can use English in your actual work. There will be a Finnish club for the International Trainees to improve their Finnish skills.

Are you ready to kickstart your career and make valuable network connections? International House Tampere is looking for a motivated person to join our Employer and Talent service team as a Trainee. This is an opportunity for you to work in a city organisation and contribute to the development of the city of Tampere.

Your Role:
As a trainee, youll support implementing and developing the digital employer and talent services, including utilizing intelligent digital service tools while ensuring a positive customer experience. In addition, your tasks will include: supporting customer work, marketing, meeting and event management activities. Depending on your skills and interests, there may be opportunities to take on additional tasks related to talent attraction and relocation as well as other talent and business services. You will be working as a part of the employer and talent service -team, but you will be closely cooperating with senior specialists, trainee colleagues and other teams. You will also be required to perform general administrative tasks as needed, so flexibility is appreciated.

What We’re Looking For:
We require a master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Public Administration, Social Sciences or Humanities), graduated max two years ago, or masters degree student in the final stages (second year) in Finnish university. Also required are excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).

We’re looking for someone who is proactive and collaborative with customer service skills. A willingness to learn and help is crucial.

We consider following experience as an advantage:
-relocation processes and other services for internationals in Tampere
-digital service development and data processing
-AI- and data management programs (such as MS Copilot, MS Power BI)
-digital marketing (e.g. social media, website management, content creation, and analytics)
-event management
