Lead System Specialist

Our global ICT team is looking for a Lead System Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will oversee and participate in the day-to-day operational activities of the ICT team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. You will provide advanced technical support, acting as an escalation point for complex system issues and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will lead and coordinate critical IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

Collaboration with the IT Manager is essential to align team efforts with organizational IT strategies. Ensuring IT systems meet security, compliance, and operational standards, addressing vulnerabilities proactively, and monitoring system performance to implement improvements are also key aspects of this role. You will maintain and update comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and configurations. You also contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure infrastructure resilience and data integrity.

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, with a focus on advanced technical responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, firewalls, servers, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Proven ability to handle complex technical escalations and lead hands-on troubleshooting efforts.
  • Experience in coordinating IT projects and managing team tasks effectively.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership skills, with a focus on fostering team collaboration and development.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, compliance requirements, and IT best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal English and Finnish is a plus
