Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking talented Design Engineers to join our Large Motors and Generators Division in Helsinki. As a part of our highly skilled engineering team, you will create and execute project-specific mechanical designs. Your skills and technical expertise will contribute to a variety of design projects. Design Engineers will create 3D-assemblies, drawings, calculations and bills of materials, as well as refine engineering instructions and processes.

The roles require presence in Helsinki approximately 50% of working time.

This position reports to Engineering Team Leader.

You will be mainly accountable for:
– Creating and executing project-specific mechanical designs
– Ensuring quality deliverables are on time and on budget
– Supporting manufacturing and purchasing operations
– Providing technical sales support together with product development
– Answering technical queries from suppliers
– Communicating engineering designs and processes to stakeholders and contributing to design reviews and in project meetings

Qualifications for the role:
– Knowledge of engineering of welded structures, and basic skills in strength calculation and structural dimensioning
– Experience in 2D/3D design systems such as AutoCAD or NX
– Know-how of product information systems, such as Teamcenter
– As a person you are collaborative, systematic and analytical
– Good written and spoken communication skills in English, Finnish is considered as an advantage
– Previous experience of sleeve and roller bearings is beneficial
– B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
– Working permit in Finland is required
