We are looking for a new team member to join us as an Automation Service Engineer in ABB Energy Industries in Helsinki, Vaasa or Pirkkala.

At ABB Energy Industries you will be a part of the business connecting people and technologies to help customers succeed for life and communities to advance. We do this by providing solutions ranging from electrification, automation, instrumentation and digital to customers within the energy industries. In this role you will be focusing on new business opportunities within power generation, district heating, energy conversion & management and smart infrastructure. You will be executing engineering, coordinating, and commissioning work of the power plant service projects and tasks mainly in Finland but also occasionally abroad. Estimated annual travel is 30 – 150 days, which you will be able to influence based on how you organize your work between remote connections and on-site work.

This position reports to Service Delivery Team Manager.

You will be mainly accountable for:
– Focusing on service tasks and supporting customers with ad-hoc problem solving
– Organizing and executing control system hardware or software design activities, and commissioning activities at customer sites or remotely
– Ensuring installed base data quality
– Cooperating with project managers, lead engineers, team members, customers representatives and other stakeholders.
– Occasionally participating in upgrade and evolution projects
– Ensuring service activities are professionally and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, budget, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications for the role:
– B.Sc. or M.Sc. in automation engineering or previous work experience and motivation towards the field
– Relevant knowledge of power plant automation / electrical systems hardware and software (PLC) design.
– Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken, Swedish is considered as an advantage
– Results-oriented, customer service and collaboration centric mindset with commitment to long term learning and personal development
– Ideally experience with engineering processes in power plant environments
– Knowledge or willingness to learn IT and Cyber Security related activities are seen as an advantage.
– Knowledge in power plant automation systems and related commissioning activities are seen as an advantage.
