Your role and responsibilities

We are now looking for a Local Division Supply Chain Management Manager at ABB Oy, IEC LV Motors in Vaasa, Finland. In this role you will be responsible for supply of direct materials, raw materials, indirect materials and services. You will be leading the activities and team for the local division SCM in cooperation with the global division. You will report to the Local Division Manager and join the local management team while working closely with your SCM colleagues in manufacturing units around the world.

The SCM manager role will require travelling, approximately 20-50 days/year. The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Developing, planning and implementing Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products using the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process
• Further developing procurement strategies with a clear understanding of the business needs and improving our skills and technologies by introducing new world class suppliers to our supply base
• Finding and driving supply chain solutions that bring competitive advantage in terms of technology and logistics
• Owning and actively developing the supplier portfolio to ensure that the supplier network meets business needs
• Locally leading the responsible sourcing practices and activities to meet ABB sustainable supply chain targets
• Ensuring the compliance of the supply chain integrity and sustainability related policies and procedures
• Ensuring that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed
• Leading, developing and coaching team members and stakeholders to continuously improve our supply chain processes
• Working closely together with the global division SCM teams and other stakeholders
• Being an active member of Local Division management team.

Qualifications for the role

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from a suitable field, such as engineering or economics
• Several years of work experience in senior roles within the technology or manufacturing sector
• Extensive experience from supply chain management
• Ability to draw conclusions, set priorities and prepare proposals for management decision making based on financial information and analysis
• Excellent leadership skills and previous line manager experience
• Excellent global networking skills, negotiation skills and leadership capabilities to support your daily responsibilities in interacting with various stakeholders
• Excellent written and spoken English and Finnish, other languages are seen as an asset
