Software Project Manager for Teleste

Nico is looking for Teleste a

SOFTWARE PROJECT MANAGER  

to work on the future of on-board systems and passenger information flows.  Your role will be part of Teleste’s Passenger Information Systems RD unit in Tampere, Finland.

Teleste offers an integrated product and service portfolio that makes eco-friendly public transportation more attractive for passengers. Teleste’s unit in Tampere specializes in on-board systems for rolling stock vehicles, like Passenger Information, CCTV, Phone and Public Address. The customers are renowned train manufacturers such as Alstom, Stadler and CAF. With your work, you can see tangible results in hundreds of trains, trams and metros, used every day by tens of thousands of passengers in Europe, Middle East and North America.

As a Software Project Manager, your responsibilities will focus for example on the following areas: 

• Plan and initiate projects, defining objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
• Develop and manage project budgets and timelines, including milestones, deadlines and critical paths
• Monitor project progress and manage scope changes
• Lead and motivate teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
• Break down project requirements into incremental releases and tasks
• Track performance, provide feedback, and support teams to achieve objectives
• Address and resolve project conflicts and issues
• Organize, participate or lead meetings, such as daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, risks, status and changes.

Qualifications and Key skills to succeed in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development and project management in management in organizations that deliver customer projects
• Proven success in managing and delivering multiple software projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies and expertise in project management tools like Jira
• Ability to create detailed project plans, set milestones, and define timelines
• Proficiency in identifying risks, assessing their impact, and developing mitigation strategies
• Strong communication skills to manage expectations of various stakeholders
• Quality-driven mindset
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Reporting to Head of Software Development, you will be part of a team that is responsible for development of our solutions with close collaboration to corporate functions.
