Site Supervisor, Marine Industry
We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor for a long-term position in international customer projects. In this role, you will work as an expert in the installation supervision and maintenance of mechanical systems within the marine industry, operating at customer sites around the world. This position is ideal for someone with prior experience in similar project roles and who enjoys both hands-on technical work and close cooperation with customers.
The initial onboarding will take place in Turku, as well as the office work when not travelling, and international travel will be arranged via Helsinki. For this reason, it is beneficial if you live near either Turku or Helsinki. The position involves a significant amount of travel (approximately 150 days per year).
Job Description
As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing installation, maintenance, and commissioning tasks related to mechanical systems in the marine industry at international customer sites. You will act as the technical point of contact for both customers and your internal organization, ensuring that all work is carried out according to agreed quality, process, and safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
– Supervising and performing mechanical installation and maintenance work at customer sites
– Participating in system installation, testing, and commissioning
– Providing technical support and solutions to customers throughout the project
– Reporting, documentation, and ensuring the overall quality of the work
– Cooperating with project teams, subcontractors, and customers
– Identifying opportunities to improve processes, working methods, or technical solutions
Requirements and Competencies
You will succeed in this role if you have:
– B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering
– Experience in mechanical installation supervision, maintenance, or site work in project environments as well as understanding of mechanical systems used in industrial applications
– Ability to work independently as a technical expert in international project sites
– Strong collaboration and communication skills in English (other languages are considered an asset)
– Willingness to travel extensively
– Knowledge or experience in the marine industry is an advantage, but not required
