Chefs and Assistant Chefs – Ethnic Restaurant (South Asian Cuisine) – Oulu
We are seeking 2 Chefs and 2 Assistant Chefs for full-time positions in an ethnic restaurant in Oulu specializing in South Asian cuisine. Employment begins in December 2025 or as agreed. We are looking for applicants who are reliable, professional, and capable of working in a busy kitchen environment.

Chef (2 positions):
-Main Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of South Asian–style dishes, including curry-based preparations, grilled items, and oven-cooked items.
Operate and maintain a tandoor oven, including temperature control and cleaning.
Manage your station during service (grill, oven, frying, curry section).
Ensure consistent taste, quality, and portioning.
Perform daily preparation tasks, including base sauces and marinades.
Support stock control and general kitchen organization
Comply with Finnish hygiene and safety regulations
Requirements:
Previous experience as a chef in a professional kitchen
Ability to operate and maintain a tandoor oven
Experience with curry preparation and seasoning techniques
Ability to work under pressure and manage high-volume service
Basic English or Finnish communication skills
Hygiene passport or willingness to obtain it immediately

Assistant Chef (2 positions)
-Main Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation of curry-based dishes, grilled items, and oven-cooked items
Support chefs with chopping, marinating, portioning, and general preparation work
Assist with frying, grilling, cooking, and assembling food items
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including oven and grill areas
Follow instructions and standard procedures accurately
Support kitchen operations during peak hours
Requirements:
Experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage
Ability to assist with basic curry preparation, grilling, and oven-based cooking
Willingness to learn standard methods and procedures
Basic English or Finnish communication skills
Hygiene passport or readiness to obtain it

Salary according to the collective agreement (MaRa TES)
