Senior Application Specialist

Cadmatic is a leading developer of digital and intelligent 3D-based design, engineering, and information management software solutions for the marine, process, and building industries. Our story began already in the 1980s and today we are, with over 300 proactive, engaged, and growth-minded people worldwide, the selected developer and provider of Cadmatic software solutions for over 6,000 customers in 60 countries. Over the last years, we have multiplied our business, and we are far from done! We are just getting started.

Now we are looking for a Senior Application Specialist to grow our team in Canada. In this role, you will bring your experience and knowledge from the Marine industry, demonstrate our software solutions to our customers, and help our customers with their software installation, implementation, and usage. Your software range covers CADMATIC Outfitting Applications. Your daily work is also about solving customer inquiries and providing customer training on-site and remotely. You turn tricky questions into successful service experiences and simple solutions, and you enjoy doing it! In practice, you find it rewarding to shift back and forth from a technical support role to a sales support role and having a wide range of tasks motivates you. If you recognize yourself with this, you might be the person we are looking for!

In short, your key responsibilities are:

  • Participating in the sales process as our technical software expert giving software demonstrations
  • Supporting and educating our customers with their software installation, implementation, and usage by providing technical support and training
  • Transferring customers’ needs and pain points into simple improvement tasks to be developed

We expect you to have:

  • Readiness and willingness to relocate to Vancouver, Canada
  • Knowledge and skills built with work experience in shipbuilding
  • A true interest and passion in shipbuilding
  • Working experience of 3+ years in the Marine Sector (preferably onsite in a shipyard)
  • Practical experience in Outfitting design, engineering, and/or 3D CAD
  • General understanding of Windows tools
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness and readiness to travel

We are especially glad if you have:

  • Basic language skills in French
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in maritime engineering
  • Experience with 3D modelling or coding skills
  • A technical background with commercial approach
  • An understanding of engineering processes and you can see the world as our customers see it

As a professional, you are a technical expert who finds it natural and rewarding to work closely with our customers. You are professionally self-confident, and you have excellent problem-solving capabilities. You have very good communication and presentation skills, and you know how to prioritize your work when having cases ongoing simultaneously. Your working style is proactive and independent, and you are willing and excited to be one of the first professionals for this role in Canada – you thrive in a start-up -like environment. Taking ownership is not a problem for you, you manage your time and tasks well and you enjoy challenges. Being a “brand ambassador” as well as persistently and resiliently reaching goals motivates you. You also enjoy working in a team sharing your knowledge and learning from others – developing and improving.

As part of our team in Vancouver, Canada and our global customer services, you will collaborate and work closely with sales, product development, and other professionals in the team contributing to our ambitious growth plans. You will report to our Regional Manager Americas located in Vancouver, Canada.

We offer you a stable, profitable global software company with a long history and a great future ahead. What we also offer you is a company with a high employee engagement rate and competitive benefits.
