Repurposing an existing industrial site brings interesting engineering problems a new build never has.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a hands-on Data Center Deployment Engineer to help us build it and then run it. You will be part of the core team in this role, which means you will not inherit someone else&#8217;s procedures, you will build them.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2006, Nordecon is an OEM and solution provider with nearly two decades of experience in mobile, server and custom-built desktop systems. The data centre is the next phase of that business.<\/p>\n<p>**What you will do**<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Plan and oversee the installation of data centre infrastructure: servers, storage, networking and power systems<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Coordinate with vendors and contractors on procurement, installation, commissioning and acceptance testing<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Configure, integrate and troubleshoot systems to keep them performing<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Work with environmental and monitoring systems \u2014 cooling, power distribution, alarms<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Carry out site assessments and make sure we meet safety and industry standards<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Write and maintain the documentation: design records, installation procedures, and the operating procedures the site will run on<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Take part in our ISO\/IEC 27001 certification work. Building the operational procedures and controls that certification is based on, not just following them<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; As the team grows, support and guide our data centre technicians<\/p>\n<p>**What helps you succeed in this role**<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Hands-on experience deploying and operating data centre infrastructure<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Solid understanding of network and data cabling, and of network and power capacity planning<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Strong Linux skills<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Working knowledge of HVAC and cooling dynamics in a data centre context<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Fluent Finnish and good English<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field or equivalent experience earned on the job<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Willingness to be on site in Riihim\u00e4ki, and to take part in an on-call rotation once the site is live<\/p>\n<p>**Nice to have**<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Experience converting or retrofitting an existing building for data centre or other critical facility use<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Experience commissioning a new site or a major capacity expansion<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Liquid-cooled or high-density deployments<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Exposure to ISO 27001, ISO 9001 or similar management systems<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Electrical or HVAC qualifications<\/p>\n<p>We offer you a permanent full-time position with interesting and versatile tasks with the opportunity to have a real influence on the development of the data center.
