Would you like to become a global expert supporting some of the world&#8217;s most advanced marine and energy installations?<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for aTechnical Expertto strengthen the Technical Services Automation team.The preferred location for the role isVaasa or Turku, Finland, but also other locations in Finland can be considered for the right candidate.In accordance withour local hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely.This role also includestravelingapproximately 25% of the time.<\/p>\n<p>In this role, you will become a key expert in embedded engine controls and automation systems, supporting customers and productsoperatingworldwide.This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on troubleshooting, software configuration, field support, testing, and product development while working alongside experts across the global W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 network.<\/p>\n<p>AtW\u00e4rtsil\u00e4Technical Services, you will join a highly specialized international team and gain in-depthexpertisein control systems for 4-stroke engines used in both marine and power plant applications.<\/p>\n<p>Your role and responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>As aTechnical Expert, you will play a key role in supporting and developing automation solutions forW\u00e4rtsil\u00e44-stroke enginesoperatingin marine and power plant applications worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n<p>Providing high-level technical support to both internal and external customers remotely and on-site.<\/p>\n<p>Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving complex automation and control system issues.<\/p>\n<p>Conducting site surveys, commissioning support, and field investigations around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Simulating andanalyzingfield issues in our advanced automation laboratory using physical and virtual test environments.<\/p>\n<p>Performing root cause analyses and supporting product reliability improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Managing engine automation software configurations, upgrades, backups, and system modifications.<\/p>\n<p>Collecting andanalyzingfield feedback, failure statistics, and operational data toidentifyimprovement opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Preparing technical documentation including service bulletins, manuals, investigation reports, and survey reports.<\/p>\n<p>Initiating, leading, and supporting product and process development projects.<\/p>\n<p>Collaborating with R&#038;D and other technical departments to solve challenging technical problems and enhance product performance.<\/p>\n<p>Supporting product introductions, validation, and testing activities for next-generation automation platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Acting as a technical reference point for product and field-relatedexpertiseacross the organization.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements for the position:<\/p>\n<p>B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or a related field.<\/p>\n<p>Experience in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.<\/p>\n<p>Experience with embedded control or automation systems.<\/p>\n<p>Strong analytical mindset and systematic approach to technical investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Good communicationskills andproficiencyin English.<\/p>\n<p>Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.<\/p>\n<p>It would be great if you also have:<\/p>\n<p>Experience with engine control systems, power generation, marine automation, or industrial automation.<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge of generators, propulsion systems, or energy-related applications.<\/p>\n<p>Experience with software configuration and diagnostics of embedded systems.<\/p>\n<p>Interestin root cause analysis, testing, validation, and product development.<\/p>\n<p>A collaborative mindset combined with curiosity and eagerness to learn.<\/p>\n<p>Contact &#038; next steps<\/p>\n<p>We hope to hear from you soon by submitting your application through our careers portal.
